As some of you may know, I’ve recently been writing on Japers’ Rink. Among other things, this joining of Capitals-blogging forces gives my Caps content greater visibility, as well as makes it easier for the reader who wants a one-stop blog shop for current Caps news and the best in timely analysis and opinion.
That said, it’s not currently my intention to let The Red Skate drift away. I’m contemplating several directions for hockey content on this site, and hope to have both the time and inspiration to implement one of them soon.

For now, I want to thank of all you who have read TRS since day one, on a summer day last June. It’s been incredibly satisfying and rewarding thus far, and I look forward to new projects ahead.
Go Caps.

OH, HOW I MISS “RED SKATE” POSTS. Yes, JP is fine if you just love stats. I don’t like your posts on JP because they have become more stat focused to please JP and you have the ability to catch the human factor that JP just can’t comprehend. Please, please, please don’t leave us regular human beings. I think your Japers Rink posts are not the real Red Skate – he’s wringing the crap out of you and making you not as fun as you are. UGH. I’m beginning to hate SBN.

Not a fan of the SBN move either. I thought The Red Skate had it’s own unique personality. Now that’s all gone because SBN has a strict look to their sites, and the type of content that JP likes isn’t what The Red Skate was all about. Every post seems to have to be a conversation starter instead of a neat musing that we’re used to. Love your work, but I just don’t think it’s right on SBN. :/

I knew this site was D-O-N-E once I read this post.
If you can’t keep up one site, how could you keep up two?
It’s a lot more work than people realize.
Enjoyed it while it lasted…

I really hope you’re bringing back the Red Skate for the first round. It would be a shame if you didn’t.

No posting since March? Seems like you abandoned the blog.

I think this blog was abandoned on 12 March, 2009.
I didn’t like the move to Japers Rink then, I like it less now. Not a good fit. Not a good fit at all.
